Dear Valued Partner,
After more than 40 years in clinical practice, Dr. Ronan E. O’Malley, MD has made the decision to retire as of June 1, 2020. His decision to retire was well deserved and we wish him well in retirement.
Dr. O’Malley has been a valued physician at Retina Consultants of Houston since 2011 and has been dedicated to helping preserve vision for his patients for more than 40 years. His passion for providing the best retina care possible has made an incredible impact not only in the Houston and Southeast Texas communities, but also throughout the entire country. He will be deeply missed.
Many of you have had a working relationship with Dr. O’Malley for many years. He was a compassionate physician, who always put his patients first. Dr. O’Malley was instrumental in closed posterior vitrectomy for premature infants and was part of the ground-breaking Avastin for Retinopathy of Prematurity study. He has served as President of both the Houston Ophthalmological Society and the Southern Retina Group in Houston and has served on numerous boards and societies. Outside of work, Dr. O’Malley traveled the world. He is an experienced and advanced birder and his photography is well known. We wish him well in retirement.
Dr. O’Malley treated patients at our Texas Medical Center and Sugar Land offices. We will make the transition for your patients as smooth as possible. Our 11 partners are familiar with his patients and they will continue to receive high quality care.
